  • LT: 7 days, special specifications requires several weeks or longer.

Brass

  • Characteristics: Best machinability of all metals, cuts like butter, has a natural luster, corrosion-resistant, good electrical conductivity.
  • Advantages: Enables very high machining speeds, excellent surface finish, and dimensional precision, goodfor complex, precise parts, with minimal tool wear.
  • Common Grades: C36000 (free-cutting brass, the benchmark for machinability), C26000 (cartridge brass, lead-free), C46400 (naval brass, seawater resistant).
  • LT: 3days in common stock.

Mild steel material for custom metal fabrication

Low-Carbon Steel (Mild Steel)

  • Characteristics: High strength, high toughness, good weldability, prone to rusting, high density.
  • Advantages: Lowest cost, readily available, suitable for high-strength structural parts where weight and corrosion resistance are not critical.
  • Grades: 1018/A36 (general structural steel), Q235 (Chinese standard), 1045 (medium carbon, can be heat treated).
  • LT: Availability confirmed during RFQ.

What JADE-CNC Reviews Before Custom Metal Fabrication

Custom metal parts may involve machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, inserts, surface finishing, inspection, and packaging. Before quoting, JADE-CNC reviews the drawing, material, tolerance, process route, assembly interface, finish requirement, and delivery condition so the project can be planned around the actual part function.

Custom metal material and fabrication process review

Material and Process Match

JADE-CNC reviews material grade, stock form, strength, corrosion resistance, conductivity, weight, surface finish, and whether the part is better suited for machining, fabrication, or a combined process.

Custom metal drawing and tolerance review

Drawing and Tolerance Review

Critical dimensions, datum references, hole positions, threads, flatness, bend areas, weld locations, and assembly interfaces are checked before quotation.

Custom metal welding and assembly planning

Welding and Assembly Planning

Weld seams, tabs, threaded inserts, fasteners, fixtures, and assembly surfaces are reviewed to reduce distortion and improve final fit.

Custom metal surface finish and inspection review

Surface Finish and Inspection

Anodizing, powder coating, plating, brushing, passivation, polishing, masking, cosmetic surfaces, and inspection requirements are reviewed against the drawing and material.

Custom metal packaging and delivery review

Packaging and Delivery Review

Finished parts are reviewed for cleaning, protection, labeling, export packaging, shipment condition, and documentation requirements before delivery.

Custom Metal Fabricators FAQ

Yes. JADE-CNC can review projects that involve CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, surface finishing, inspection, and light assembly support when the drawing and project scope are clear.

Common materials include aluminum, stainless steel, steel, brass, copper, bronze, titanium, tool steel, and other project-specific metal materials depending on strength, corrosion resistance, weight, conductivity, and finish requirements.

The process is reviewed according to geometry, material, tolerance, quantity, surface finish, assembly interface, inspection scope, and delivery requirement. Some parts may require machining, fabrication, welding, or a combined route.

Yes. Welded structures, brackets, frames, threaded inserts, PEM hardware, fasteners, and assembly features can be reviewed before production when these requirements are shown on the drawing.

Yes. JADE-CNC can review anodizing, powder coating, plating, passivation, brushing, polishing, painting, masking, and other finish requirements based on material and part function.

Tolerance depends on the process. CNC machined features, sheet metal bends, welded assemblies, and finished surfaces should be reviewed separately because each process has different tolerance behavior.

Yes. Prototype and low-volume custom metal parts can be reviewed for manufacturability, cost control, material selection, inspection planning, and future production readiness.

Inspection may include dimensional checks, thread checks, hole position, flatness, surface finish, weld condition, assembly fit, quantity, packaging condition, and customer-required documentation.
