Custom Metal Fabrication Materials
Aluminum
- Characteristics: Lightweight, corrosion-resistant, excellent machinability (fast cutting speed), good thermal and electrical conductivity.
- Advantages: Best balance of "strength-weight-machinability", high production efficiency, easy to apply surface treatments like anodizing.
- Common Grades: 6061-T6 (most versatile), 7075-T6 (high strength), 2024 (high fatigue strength), 5083 (high corrosion resistance).

Stainless Steel
- Characteristics: Excellent corrosion resistance, high strength and hardness, good aesthetics and hygiene.
- Advantages: Long service life and low maintenance in harsh environments and food/medical applications, combining functionality with appearance.
- Grades: 304/316 (general corrosion resistance), 303 (free-machining, superior machinability), 17-4PH (precipitation hardening, high strength).

Titanium Alloy
- Characteristics: Exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, outstanding corrosion resistance, biocompatibility.
- Advantages: Irreplaceable for mission-critical applications requiring extreme weight reduction, resistance to extreme corrosion, or for human implants.
- Grades: Ti-6Al-4V (Grade 5)(the "workhorse" aerospace alloy), Gr.2 (commercially pure titanium, corrosion resistant), Ti-6Al-4V ELI (Grade 23, medical implant grade).
- LT: 7 days,special specifications requires several weeks or longer.
Brass
- Characteristics: Best machinability of all metals, cuts like butter, has a natural luster, corrosion-resistant, good electrical conductivity.
- Advantages: Enables very high machining speeds, excellent surface finish, and dimensional precision, goodfor complex, precise parts, with minimal tool wear.
- Common Grades: C36000 (free-cutting brass, the benchmark for machinability), C26000 (cartridge brass, lead-free), C46400 (naval brass, seawater resistant).
- LT: 3days in common stock.
Low-Carbon Steel (Mild Steel)
- Characteristics: High strength, high toughness, good weldability, prone to rusting, high density.
- Advantages: Lowest cost, readily available, suitable for high-strength structural parts where weight and corrosion resistance are not critical.
- Grades: 1018/A36 (general structural steel), Q235 (Chinese standard), 1045 (medium carbon, can be heat treated).

Material and Process Match
JADE-CNC reviews material grade, stock form, strength, corrosion resistance, conductivity, weight, surface finish, and whether the part is better suited for machining, fabrication, or a combined process.
Drawing and Tolerance Review
