Benefits & Applications

Selective Laser Melting (SLM)

A laser selectively melts metal powder particles layer by layer. The part is built in a controlled environment (usually inert gas) to prevent oxidation.

Typically used with stainless steel, titanium, aluminum, and other metal alloys.

Benifits: Produces dense, high-strength parts with good mechanical properties.

Applications: Aerospace components, medical implants, and complex geometries.

Stereolithography (SLA) A UV laser cures liquid resin in a vat, solidifying it layer by layer. Photopolymer resins with various properties, including flexible and high-temperature options.

Benifits: High resolution and smooth surface finish; ideal for intricate details.

Applications: Jewelry, dental applications, and prototypes.

Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) A laser sinters powdered material, fusing particles together to create solid parts, with no need for support structures. Nylon, polyamides, and other thermoplastics.

Benifits: Strong, functional parts; good for complex geometries and no support structures needed.

Applications: Functional prototypes, end-use parts, and small production runs.
